	General Information The Department of Mechanical Engineering, founded in 1932, is one of the earliest established disciplines in Tsinghua University. It has now developed into the School of Mechanical Engineering, being consist of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Precision Instruments & Mechanology and the Department of Automotive Engineering, which were separated from the former Department of Mechanical Engineering.
